Applied Behavioral Analysis

Each child will be paired with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who will provide ABA therapy within the context of a nurturing and child-friendly environment. RBTs are supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). The BCBA creates an individualized treatment plan for each child that focuses on the acquisition and mastery of various social, communication, daily living, and problem-solving skills.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science devoted to the understanding and improvement of human behavior. The primary focus of ABA is to objectively define and change behaviors, especially those that have social significance. ABA has been proven to effectively reduce challenging behaviors while promoting the acquisition of developmentally necessary skills. As a science, ABA incorporates data-based decision-making and evidence-based practices to ensure treatment is effective. ABA focuses on communication, social interaction, play skills, academics, daily living, and vocational skills. Studies have shown that early intensive ABA intervention has the most significant impact on developing and promoting skills, as young children’s brains are still developing. By utilizing ABA practices rooted in positive reinforcement strategies, children with autism learn socially acceptable behaviors and other pertinent skills, increasing their quality of life.

School Readiness Program

In addition to receiving ABA therapy, children will spend time each day in our simulated preschool classroom. Instruction will be provided in small groups based on age and ability. Our school readiness program exposes children to a year-long preschool curriculum based on Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards. Children will learn school readiness skills such as attending (paying attention and listening), turn-taking, cooperation, and sharing. While in this environment, children will have their RBT with them for support.
